GOLDRAT RIVER SLUICING: A HISTORY

The early days of gold mining in the Region were characterized by a distinctive method known as sluicing. Developing from the requirement to extract coveted minerals from the heavily laden riverbeds, sluicing emerged as a widespread practice. Resourceful miners would build elaborate sluice boxes, meticulously guiding the river water to wash away
